COORDINATION / rare-earth organic structure

Overcomes the inherent weakness of conventional coupling agents

Conventional coupling agents interact poorly with the matrix; R1848 rebuilds the interface with a coordination-type rare-earth organic polymer structure, is extremely compatible with polyolefin matrices, and markedly improves the wetting and dispersion of inorganic or organic particles in the resin matrix.

ENCAPSULATION / melt coating

A “coat” process for dusting powders

After melting at 90–105 ℃ it is poured onto the powder surface and forms a uniform coating layer through high-speed mixing: for heavily dusting powders it provides a unique coupling-and-solubilising and coating-dispersion effect, lowers melt viscosity, suppresses dust, and allows filler loading to be increased during processing.

TOUGHENING / stiffness × toughness together

Impact strength greatly improved

Fillers/pigments treated with R1848 raise the stiffness and thermal stability of the material while greatly increasing the impact strength of the composite, with a clear toughening effect; for organic pigments it also offers unique dispersion and colour-boosting.

(Data source: product handbook / official product data)

Positioning background (as recorded): "Developed for special powder encapsulation, such as aluminum powder encapsulation, etc. Aluminum silver powder is not easily dispersed in plastics and has high dusting; when the mixing temperature is high, hazards such as fire and explosion can easily occur. Using R1848 specifically to treat aluminum silver powder can reduce the hazards of aluminum powder and more effectively improve the compatibility and dispersibility of aluminum powder in plastics. To produce color masterbatch, only aluminum powder and carrier resin need to be added; no additional additives need to be added." (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

Main effects (as recorded): "It overcomes the weakness of poor interfacial interaction between traditional coupling agents and the matrix, has good compatibility with polyolefin matrices, and can improve the wettability and dispersibility of inorganic or organic particles in resin matrices. Fillers and pigments treated with it, while improving material rigidity and thermal stability, greatly increase the impact strength of composite materials and have a marked toughening effect." (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

Effects continued (as recorded): "It has unique coupling-solubilization and encapsulation-dispersion effects on powders with high dusting, can reduce the melt viscosity of resin composite systems, improve processing flowability, and during processing the filler dosage can be appropriately increased. It has unique dispersibility and color-enhancing function for organic pigments and is suitable for pigment treatment for various concentrated color masterbatches."
