💡 Core application advantage

When producing ultrafine conductive carbon black powder, the finer the powder the more easily it agglomerates, seriously affecting quality, and when dissolved in water it disperses poorly and settles. Adding D3-A hyperdispersant disperses the conductive carbon black rapidly in water and forms a coating layer on the powder surface without affecting conductivity.

SEC.02 / SEDIMENTATION TEST

Disperse · coat · conduct — triple verification

Toggle the mode: without D3-A the carbon particles settle and clump; once added, they suspend evenly, a pale yellow coating ring forms and the cyan conductive path stays connected.

Poor dispersion · settling · conductive path broken
DISPERSE / rapid dispersion

The water-phase problem of conductive carbon black

Ultrafine conductive carbon black disperses poorly and settles easily in water; with its very narrow molecular-weight distribution, D3-A disperses it rapidly, and the slurry stays stable for a long time without settling.

COAT / surface coating

An efficient coating layer on the powder surface

While dispersing it forms a coating layer on the conductive carbon black surface — preventing settling and agglomeration and giving more even adhesion in immersion processes.

CONDUCT / conductivity unaffected

Dispersion and conduction together

D3-A itself is somewhat conductive; it distributes the carbon black evenly and does not affect its conductivity — mainly used in superconducting electronics.

01Product positioning

What it is. D3-A is a water-based super-conductive carbon black hyperdispersant: official category field 'Conductive Dispersant' (English category name 'Conductive Dispersant'), official one-liner 'Water-based system conductive, eco-friendly super-conductive' (English counterpart sentence 'Water-based conductive system'), mechanism field 'Chemical dispersion (water-based system conductive)'—its function is defined by dispersion in water-based systems of super-conductive carbon black, with adsorption and coating as well. Official overview sentence verbatim: 'D3-A hyperdispersant is improved by our company on the basis of D3, a water-based hyperdispersant and adsorbent developed specifically for immersion of electronic products with super-conductive carbon black. It is a low-molecular-weight solution compounded from a hyperdispersant for carbon nanotubes and non-ionic R900 hyperdispersant plus D3 in precise proportions under low temperature and low pressure conditions. It has excellent molecular weight and a fairly narrow molecular weight distribution, and has very good dispersibility and conductive effect for the distribution of super-conductive carbon black in aqueous solution.' (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

Name and spelling. Handbook layer: page title 'D3-A Super-conductive Carbon Black Dedicated Hyperdispersant', table of contents line 'D3-A: Water-based Super-conductive Carbon Black Hyperdispersant', company introduction list sentence 'Water-based Conductive Carbon Black Hyperdispersant: D3-A'. Official full name 'Water-based Super-conductive Carbon Black Hyperdispersant D3-A', English name 'Aqueous Conductive Dispersant D3-A', Traditional Chinese name 'Water-based Super-conductive Carbon Black Hyperdispersant D3-A'; official website list title (Chinese) 'Super-conductive Carbon Black Dedicated Hyperdispersant', (English) 'Hyperdispersant for super-conductive carbon black'. Detail page layer: main title 'Super-conductive Carbon Black Dedicated Hyperdispersant', subtitle 'Ether polymer · Dedicated to immersion of super-conductive electronic products · Water-based hyperdispersant and adsorbent', header 'TECHNICAL DATA SHEET · TDS-D3-A · REV 2026-09 · CN', navigation label 'Super-conductive carbon black · TDS'. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

Attribution and coordinates. Handbook layer: listed within the hyperdispersant series section of the product catalog (adjacent rows in the catalog: above 'R1848: Special Encapsulation-Type Hyperdispersant', below 'NMTG-3278: Carbon Nanotube Hyperdispersant'). Official layer: series attribution is the hyperdispersant series (list position 9, preceded by R1848, followed by NMTG-3278); application domains are registered in two layers—coatings and inks domain and special function domain; industry-side mapping is the organic-inorganic powder category. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

What it is not. It is not the plastic conductive carbon black direction R1618 in the same category; not the carbon nanotube direction NMTG-3278 in the same category; not the conductive leather antistatic direction DD550 adjacent in the 'D'-starting numbering (category 'antistatic agent'); not a masterbatch / resin / filler itself; except for the explicitly recorded R810 immersion-type combined use, the materials do not write it as a replacement, upgrade, or derivative relationship for any model. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

Data boundaries. The materials give the overview sentence, advantages paragraph, main ingredients, five performance indicators, uses, recommended dosage, and packaging; they do not list storage conditions, shelf life, transport, usage method, processing temperature window, safety notes, disclaimers, or test methods; the values below are values recorded in the materials, not performance commitments. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

02Formulation system & mechanism of action

Composition. The handbook 'Main ingredients' verbatim 'ether polymer', and the official ingredient field is from the same source with the same value—specific grade, polymerization structure, and compounding ratio are not given in the materials and are not presumed. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

Advantages paragraph (verbatim transcription). Full paragraph verbatim: 'D3-A hyperdispersant is a water-soluble high-efficiency hyperdispersant, with low dosage, and has very good dispersibility, adsorption, and conductive effect for super-conductive carbon black. For example, when producing super-conductive carbon black ultrafine powders, the finer the powder, the more likely it is to agglomerate, seriously affecting product quality, and when dissolved in water, it is prone to not dispersing, sedimentation, and similar phenomena. However, adding D3-A hyperdispersant can quickly disperse super-conductive carbon black in aqueous solution, and form a coating layer on the surface of super-conductive carbon black powder, and does not affect conductive performance.' Five key points: water-soluble and high-efficiency, low dosage; combines dispersion, adsorption, and conductive effects; directly addresses the agglomeration and sedimentation dilemma of ultrafine powders; rapidly disperses after addition; coating does not affect conductivity. All are qualitative statements. (Data source: product handbook)

Compounding lineage (overview sentence and detail page lineage layer). The overview sentence (quoted above) already records the source path: D3 base + hyperdispersant for carbon nanotubes compounded with non-ionic R900 hyperdispersant, made into a low-molecular-weight solution under low temperature and low pressure. Detail page 'SEC.01 / LINEAGE' block title 'Core Overview and Compounding Lineage': three nodes 'Hyperdispersant for carbon nanotubes / Non-ionic R900 hyperdispersant / D3 base' → 'Low-temperature low-pressure compounding · precise ratio' → 'D3-A · low-molecular-weight solution'. Reading: the lineage diagram is a graphical expression of the overview sentence, not a feed formula; the ratio is not given in the materials and is not presumed. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

Detail page mechanism layer (page-based presentation). 'SEC.02 / SEDIMENTATION TEST' block title 'Dispersion · Coating · Conduction Triple Verification', block note verbatim 'Switch mode: without D3-A, carbon dots settle and clump; after addition, they suspend uniformly, a pale yellow coating ring forms, and the cyan conductive pathway remains connected.'; three-step cards: 'DISPERSE / Rapid dispersion' (the aqueous-phase challenge of super-conductive carbon black: poor dispersion, easy sedimentation; rapid dispersion after addition), 'COAT / Surface coating' (high-efficiency coating layer on powder surface: prevents sedimentation, no agglomeration), 'CONDUCT / Conduction unaffected' (dispersion and conduction achieved together: does not affect its conductive performance). Reading: the switch demo and pathway animation are interface presentations, not measured data, and are not cited as indicators. (Data source: official product data)

Effect boundaries. The overview, advantages paragraph, and mechanism field are all directional statements: no resistivity, no quantified dispersion efficiency value, no comparative data. This page does not extrapolate or make commitments. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

04Recommended dosage window

Conclusion first: two dosage lines coexist (each denominator is stated separately) ⇒ present both lines, do not choose only one, do not convert across lines. Layer-by-layer verification as follows. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

Table 2 · D3-A — recommended dosage
ScenarioDosageConditions & notes
Handbook layer (four sources with identical text, mutually corroborating)'Superconductive silicon-carbon tube: appropriate addition amount by total formula weight (1-2%)'[Recommended dosage] Line 1; total formula weight

Detail page layer'Superconductive silicon-carbon tube' = '1% – 2%' (added by total formula weight); 'immersion-type superconducting electronic products' = '5% – 8%' (added by total liquid amount)Two recommended dosage entries; each entry is labeled separately

Three points must be made clear. First, the two lines are parallel, not a single value—the objects and denominators are both different (superconductive silicon-carbon tube ↔ total formula weight; immersion-type superconducting electronic products ↔ total liquid amount), and the ranges are also different (1-2% ↔ 5-8%) ⇒ present both lines, do not choose only one, do not convert across lines. Second, the denominators are both stated: the official data layer simultaneously records the original text of both lines, and the two detail-page entries correspond one-to-one with the two lines. Third, this grade has no thickness-dosage direction clause—wording such as 'add more when thinner / add less when thinner' is absent from the source; do not write it, do not apply direction from other grades. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

Demand-side note. The sample form example sentence on the detail page is verbatim: 'For example: superconductive carbon black does not disperse in water and settles on standing; would like to request a sample to test dispersion and encapsulation effect at 1%…'—1% falls within the 1-2% range and is a page example (not a recommended value, not a commitment); in practice, request the accompanying technical documents by item number and conduct a small-scale trial. Boundaries
D3-A governs the aqueous-system dispersion of superconductive carbon black (including adsorption and encapsulation for immersion-type superconducting electronic products), and is not the same as plastic conductive carbon black (R1618), carbon nanotubes (NMTG-3278), water-based carbon black ('water-based carbon black dedicated dispersant R400'), or dye dispersion (R780). On the masterbatch side: no corresponding entry for this grade, nor an 'internal use'-type mapping, is seen—write 'no correspondence'; do not infer. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)
Is it the same as R1618 / NMTG-3278?No. The three grades all belong to the 'conductive hyperdispersant' category, but their directions and objects are independent: R1618 is for plastic conductive carbon black; NMTG-3278 is for carbon nanotubes; D3-A is for water-based superconductive carbon black. The three sets of values must not be cross-applied (for value basis, see 6.1 / 6.2). (Data source: product handbook / official product data)
Is it the same as DD550 or the similar 'D3'?No. DD550 is a permanent antistatic agent for conductive leather (category 'antistatic agent'), and is completely different from D3-A in category, mechanism, objects, and dosage system (see 6.3); 'D3' is only the base name in this grade's overview sentence 'improved on the basis of D3', not an independently registered grade; 'nonionic R900' is a compounded component description—neither is treated as an independent product relationship (see 6.4). (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

06How it differs from related grades

Conclusion first. The items most likely to be associated by number are R1618 / NMTG-3278 (three parallel lines in the same category 'conductive hyperdispersant'); next is DD550, adjacent by initial 'D'; then there is the base name 'D3' appearing in the overview sentence (not an independently registered grade). Each is independent, not written as a parent-child code or substitution relationship — values are not copied between them. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

08FAQ

What exactly is D3-A?

A waterborne superconductive carbon black hyperdispersant: official category field 'conductive hyperdispersant', official one-sentence description 'waterborne system conductive, environmentally friendly superconductive', mechanism field 'chemical dispersion (waterborne system conductive)', main component 'ether polymer'; appearance light yellow liquid (with acetic acid odor · non-toxic), easily soluble in water, all five physicochemical indicators are listed in Section 3; mainly used for superconducting electronic products. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

What is the dosage? What is the denominator?

Two dosage lines coexist: [Recommended dosage] line 1 verbatim 'superconductive silicon-carbon tube at an appropriate addition amount based on total formulation weight (1-2%)' (denominator = total formulation weight); line 2 verbatim 'for immersion-type superconducting electronic products, the addition amount is based on total liquid amount (5-8%)' (denominator = total liquid amount); the two entries on the detail page correspond item by item to the two lines. Both lines are presented side by side, without conversion; for immersion-type products, it is recommended to use together with R810 (dosage 2%); in practice, please request the accompanying technical documentation by part number and conduct a small-scale trial. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

Is it the same as R1618 / NMTG-3278?

No. The three grades belong to the same 'conductive hyperdispersant' category, but their directions and targets are independent: R1618 is for plastic conductive carbon black; NMTG-3278 is for carbon nanotubes; D3-A is for waterborne superconductive carbon black. The three sets of values must not be applied interchangeably (for value definitions, see 6.1 / 6.2). (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

Is it the same as DD550 and 'D3', which appear similar?

No. DD550 is a permanent antistatic agent for conductive leather (category 'antistatic agent'), and its category, mechanism, target, and dosage system are entirely different from those of D3-A (see 6.3); 'D3' is only the base name in this grade's overview sentence 'improved on the basis of D3', not an independently registered grade, and 'nonionic R900' is a description of a compounded component — neither is treated as an independent product relationship (see 6.4). (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

How is halogen labeled? Are there directional clauses such as 'the thinner, the more added'?

This grade is not on the list of nine true halogen-free grades ⇒ the two compliance labeling terms are not written at all and are treated as 'not applicable'; for halogen compliance documents, please request them by part number. Directional clauses: this grade has no thickness-dosage directional clauses such as 'the thinner, the more added / the thinner, the less added'; this page does not write them, nor does it apply the directional conclusions of other grades. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

What are the packaging, storage, and missing-item clauses?

Packaging '20kg/PE plastic drum'; clauses such as storage, shelf life, transport, usage method details, processing temperature window, safety notes, and disclaimer are not given on this grade's page and are not drafted — please request the accompanying technical documentation by part number. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

AppendixData sources

The data on this page come from two types of sources and can be traced item by item:

  • Two types of factual sources: product handbook (main volume / edited version / hyperdispersant series special volume, mutually corroborating text) and official product data (product fields, series catalog and application-domain data, detail page copy), with sources noted alongside the text and traceable item by item.
  • Section 6 cross-reading: name, category, composition, mechanism, recorded values, and dosage system are taken item by item from each item's own page records; values for different grades are not written into each other's paragraphs.
  • All values on this page are source-recorded values; for actual production, please confirm by small-scale trial in combination with your own formulation, carbon black system, and processing conditions.

Not covered by the source material (not written on this page — to be added later)

  • Dosage two lines juxtaposed: the handbook layer's two lines (1-2% based on total formulation weight / 5-8% based on total liquid amount) coexist, with denominators stated separately ⇒ both lines are presented side by side, not choosing one over the other; it is recommended that the source side supplement the applicability notes for the two lines.
  • Storage clause missing: the four sources and the detail page layer have no storage clause ⇒ not drafted; it is recommended that the source side review and supplement the record.
  • Wording in the advantages paragraph: the character romanized as 'rong' in the phrase romanized as 'dang rong yu shui shi' is as in the source, transcribed verbatim, not changed on its behalf.
  • Compounded composition terms: 'D3', 'hyperdispersant for carbon nanotubes', and 'nonionic R900 hyperdispersant' are descriptive terms for compounded composition in the overview sentence — transcribed verbatim, not expanded into independent product relationships, and not used as a basis for calculation.
  • R810 compatibility value: 'R810 (dosage 2%)' is a compatibility-use value recorded in the source, not a component of this grade's dosage; this page transcribes it verbatim and does not expand it into an independent product relationship.
  • Page interactions are not used as indicators: the immersion toggle demonstration and conductive path animation are interface presentations ⇒ not cited as indicators; the two-state reading text issue has been logged, and this page does not cite its wording.
  • Similar-looking number note: R1618 / NMTG-3278 (three lines in the same category); DD550 (adjacent number starting with 'D'); 'D3' (base name, not a grade) — for search and selection, the official full name and category field shall prevail.
