01Product positioning

What it is. R333 is a PP/PE dedicated gamma-ray anti-aging agent: official category field 'Gamma-Ray Anti-Aging Agent', English category name 'Gamma-Ray Anti-Aging', official one-liner 'Resistant to 60Co irradiation, suitable for medical and aerospace applications', mechanism field 'Hindered amine + chelating agent + stabilizing synergy'—its function is defined in the stabilization modification of PP/PE articles under radiation environments, and its target of action is 'gamma-ray irradiation'. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

Name and layer-specific wording. Technical data page title verbatim 'PP/PE Dedicated Gamma-Ray Anti-Aging Agent R333'; product catalog line verbatim 'R333: PP/PE Dedicated Gamma-Ray Anti-Aging Agent'; company profile list sentence verbatim includes 'Dedicated gamma-ray anti-aging agents: R333 and other additives.'; official full name 'PP/PE Dedicated Gamma-Ray Anti-Aging Agent R333', English name 'PP/PE Gamma-Ray Anti-Aging R333', Traditional Chinese name 'PP/PE Dedicated Gamma-Ray Anti-Aging Agent R333' (available in 10 languages); at the dictionary layer, two names coexist: full name 'PP/PE Dedicated Gamma-Ray Anti-Aging Agent', short menu name 'PP/PE Gamma-Ray Anti-Aging Agent'. Detail page main title 'PP / PE Dedicated Gamma-Ray Anti-Aging Agent', subtitle 'Hindered amine derivatives × chelating agents × stabilizing synergy system · phosphate ester dilaurylamine', header label 'TECHNICAL DATA SHEET · TDS-R333 · REV 2026-09 · CN', navigation label 'Gamma-Ray Anti-Aging · TDS'. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

Attribution and coordinates (presented in two parallel layers, not merged or converted). Handbook layer: listed within the 'Comprehensive Series' section of the product catalog, as a separate line; official layer: included in the Comprehensive Series (ranked 25th in the official website product list), and the category list of the series data includes 'Gamma-Ray Anti-Aging Agent'; application-domain data are classified into the 'Special Functions' domain (registered terms in the domain include 'gamma-ray anti-aging') and the 'Pipes and Sheets' domain (registered terms in the domain include 'outdoor pipes'). (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

What it is not. It is not a masterbatch / resin / filler material itself; not a hyperdispersant / dispersant direction; not a flame retardant direction (does not apply the 'halogen-free flame retardant' category wording—that is the wording used for the individual main agents in the flame retardant series); nor is it a light-blocking agent (R5503) or thermal insulation agent (R66) direction. Similar numbering does not mean the same family (see Section 6 for boundaries). (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

Data boundaries. The material provides an overview, five performance features, a technical index table, five application scopes, four usage methods, packaging, storage and transportation, five precautions, and quality commitments; it does not provide mechanical data tables before and after irradiation, free radical inhibition rate or yellowness index curves, nor density, viscosity or similar physicochemical items, or safety data sheet entries. The values below are as recorded in the material and are not performance claims. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

  • Can withstand repeated ⁶⁰Co gamma-ray irradiation, effectively inhibit radiation-induced polymer free radical degradation, greatly improve the tensile strength, toughness, and dimensional stability of articles after irradiation, and eliminate short-term yellowing, chalking, and cracking problems
  • Specifically designed for PP and PE (low-density, high-density, linear low-density) substrates, with excellent compatibility, no migration, no exudation, and no VOC residue, suitable for the stringent standards of food contact, medical, and aerospace industries
  • Withstands the conventional high processing temperatures of PP/PE, with excellent thermal stability, does not decompose or smoke, does not affect molding processes such as injection molding, extrusion, blown film, and fiber drawing, and does not affect the high-gloss mirror finish of articles or subsequent printing and adhesion performance
  • Combines multiple functions including gamma radiation resistance, thermal-oxidative aging resistance, and hygrothermal aging resistance; is suitable for conditions such as double 85 hygrothermal aging and long-term outdoor aging, providing long-term locking of the physical properties of articles
  • Can be used in combination with conventional antioxidants, lubricants, mold release agents, and inorganic fillers, with no antagonistic reactions, and does not affect modification effects such as flame retardancy and toughening of the substrate

02Formulation system & mechanism of action

'This product is a high-efficiency dedicated gamma-ray anti-aging additive suitable for polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) substrates, formulated from hindered amine derivatives, chelating agents, and a stabilizing synergy system (phosphate ester dilaurylamine), specifically addressing aging problems such as molecular chain scission, yellowing, embrittlement, mechanical strength decay, cracking, and shortened service life in PP and PE articles under gamma-ray irradiation.' 'The product has excellent compatibility with PP and PE resins, with no exudation, no blooming, and low volatility; it does not affect the original processing performance of the substrate such as injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, and spinning, and does not change the light transmittance, gloss, or printing performance of articles.' 'It can withstand gamma-ray irradiation in demanding scenarios such as conventional medical irradiation, industrial radiation, and aerospace irradiation, while also providing long-term thermal-oxidative aging protection; it is suitable for complex conditions such as alternating high and low temperatures and hygrothermal aging, and is a dedicated core additive for stabilization modification of PP/PE plastic articles in radiation environments.' (Data source: product handbook)

Composition and form. Official main ingredient field verbatim (three items in parallel): 'hindered amine derivatives, chelating agents, phosphate ester dilaurylamine'; handbook overview parenthetical note '(phosphate ester dilaurylamine)'; appearance 'white uniform fine particles (powder)'. Role breakdown: hindered amine derivatives suppress free radical degradation chains, chelating agents sequester metal-ion interference, and the stabilizing synergy system supplements long-term and hygrothermal condition stability. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

Five detail-page sections (page-based presentation). The official detail page is divided into five sections: SEC.01 'Dosage Knob Laboratory · 10–100 kGy'—when the knob is turned, 'Unprotected · PP/PE specimens' progressively yellow with dose and crack at ≥50kGy; '+R333 · PP/PE specimens' remain stable throughout; there is also an 'irradiation indicator label' that changes color with dose; the knob explanation verbatim: 'Turn the dose knob: unprotected specimens progressively yellow with dose and crack at ≥50kGy; +R333 specimens remain stable throughout. The indicator label changes color with dose (sterilization indication logic).' SEC.02 'Core Performance Features · Fivefold Protection'; SEC.03 'Technical Indexes · Compatible Substrate Grades'; SEC.04 'Application Scope · Five Major Irradiation Scenarios'; SEC.05 'Usage Method · Packaging, Storage, and Transportation'. Four badges on the first screen: 'Withstands 10–100 kGy gamma irradiation' 'Thermal-oxidative / hygrothermal / double 85 multiple protection' 'No migration · no exudation · no VOC residue' 'Stringent standards for medical / industrial / aerospace irradiation'. The above is a page-based illustration, not measured imagery. (Data source: official product data)

Effect boundaries. The materials provide only qualitative effects; a quantitative comparison table before and after irradiation is not provided, and this page does not extrapolate. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

This grade provides an 'addition ratio' — two tiers + one tier-selection sentence. Primary statement verbatim (handbook [Instructions for Use] item 1): Addition ratio: under conventional conditions, dosage 0.5%-1.2%; under medium-to-high irradiation dose (above 50kGy) and long-term aging conditions, add 1.2%-1.8%; for thin films and drawn products, the lower limit is recommended; for thick-walled structural parts, the medium-to-upper limit is recommended.

Three points must be made clear. First, the denominator wording is not provided in the source — do not draft it by substitution; all three occurrences are ratio statements and must not be mixed with other grades' calculations. Second, the tier-selection sentence applies only to this grade: record it verbatim; do not write wording such as 'thinner means add more / thinner means add less,' and do not apply directional conclusions from other grades. Third, the range is not a commitment: the value at the target dose should be determined by a small-scale trial with your own product. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

06How it differs from related grades

Conclusion first. The two grades most easily associated with R333 are R5503 and R66: the three grades belong to the same comprehensive series and share the same 'special function' category context, but they are three independent products—each has its own name, technical data sheet, and official entry; the materials do not describe them as parent/child codes, upgrades, or substitutes. The category, composition, and dosage basis of the three grades must be read item by item—values are not to be copied across grades, and bases are not to be applied across grades; R333 is not a suffix code of any model. This grade is not on the list of nine true halogen-free models, and the materials also do not contain statements regarding halogen content ⇒ both compliance labeling terms are not to be written and are treated as 'not applicable'; if halogen-related compliance documents are needed, please request them from the supplier by specific item number. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

Packaging and shelf life?

'25kg/PE composite bag' with customizable small packaging; original sealed shelf life 24 months. (Data source: product handbook / official product data)

AppendixData sources

Data on this page comes from two types of materials and can be traced item by item:

  • Two types of factual sources: product handbook (main volume / content-edited version / comprehensive series volume; the three volumes corroborate each other with the same text) and official product data (product fields, series and application-domain data, detail-page copy, and multilingual naming), with sources noted in the text and traceable item by item.
  • Section 6 is read against the two models R5503 and R66: the five basis points match the respective records of the two models item by item; the paragraphs of R333 itself do not contain any values from the two models.
  • All values on this page are documented values; for actual production, please conduct small-scale tests in combination with your own formulation and raw materials for confirmation.

Not covered by the source material (not written on this page — to be added later)

  • Denominator wording: the addition ratio does not give a denominator (not drafted on its behalf); once provided by the product side, this page and the basis table can be updated accordingly.
  • Tier-selection sentence in table: the thickness-dosage tier-selection sentence is a model-level clause; it has been recommended to add a row in the model-by-model table of the 'Basis Specification' (directions for other models must not be interchanged with this grade).
  • R5503 official dosage field: '0.5-3%' has no corresponding column recorded at the handbook level—registered as an inter-level missing item and reported back to the data side for verification; this page does not judge right or wrong and does not modify on its behalf.
  • Quantitative data before and after irradiation: mechanical property data table, free radical inhibition rate, yellowness index, and dose-point comparison—not provided in the materials (not extrapolated, not promised).
  • Compounding window: recommended ratios with 1010 / 168 and quantitative upper limits with metal-ion additives—the materials only give qualitative statements.
  • Missing physical and chemical items: density, viscosity, whiteness, loss on ignition, test method column, and safety data—not listed.
  • Writing differences (transcribed by layer, not mutually altered): '0.5%-1.2%' / '0.5–1.2%'; '50kGy and above' (handbook) / '≥50kGy' (detail page); '⁶⁰Co' / '60Co'; melting point '105℃-125℃' / '105-125 °C'; grade 'Borealis Borouge Chemical HE2590' / 'PE · Borealis Borouge HE2590'.
